Education Program

The article 11 of the law N°01/2007 of January 2007 relating to protection of persons with disability states that persons with disabilities have rights to appropriate education with respect to the nature of their disability. Special conditions are allowed for those who cannot sit for exams under the same conditions like others. Education policy in Rwanda expects that all children should benefit from inclusive basic education program and special needs education is integral part of the Education sector plan.
Wikwiheba Mwana uses Special educational whereby children with disabilities get special support as it is harder for them to learn than most children the same age.
These children need extra help that include: reading, writing, number work or understanding information, expression, making friends or interacting with adults, behaving properly in school and organizing themselves
Model inclusive ECD
Community children join the children with disabilities in the Center and learn together in Early Childrhood Education. The age of these children is normally from 3 to 6, but for those with disabilities it can be a bit more due to impairments.
