Physiotherapy

At Wikwiheba Mwana Center, Physiotherapy is a service that benefit infants and children with physical impairments that include: cerebral Palsy, Gross motor delay, Developmental, Coordination Disorder, Down Syndro­­me, Muscular Dystrophy or other neuromuscular challenges, Weight challenges.

 

Therapists of Wikwiheba Mwana work closely with parents and conduct home visits to monitor the evolution of practice. Functional exercises such as Postural exercise and education, Movement techniques, advice and support to parents and caregivers to help their children. A child is cared for and can reach their potentials as it is the mission of Wikwiheba Mwana. 

Occupationaltherapy

Wikwiheba Mwana Therapists employ a number of activities like picking things up, to build fine motor skills, and jumping or running an obstacle course to build the gross motor skills. Therapists work on daily basis to help children to get dressed by their own.

Musicotherapy

Wikwiheba Mwana Center has been lucky to get tools that help in Music Therapy. This is the conscious use of the music that help the health of infants and children to improve. Therapeutic singing helps our children in all aspects that benefit their entire being: psychomotor skills, brain plasticity, cognitive aspects, and emotional balance to communication, sociability, and spiritual connection. Music therapy allows children to release traumas, balance their energy and improve their mood and attitude towards life.

Referral to special care facilities

Children with disabilities that need advanced care are referred to specialized Centers with competent treatment.
